Pleased To Meet Ya
Dreams – I have dreams!
Goals – I have goals!
Plans – I have plans!
Cancer – I have cancer. It doesn’t have me, though. It doesn’t own me. It doesn’t define me. It is an unwelcome intruder into a life brimming with love, hope, courage and strength. And I have vowed to wage war with it, invoke the healing power of Christ who loves me, and walk through this warzone with His hand in mine.
Like every other Christian, I am just traveling through this world – I am on the road Home. But I intend to take the long, scenic way Home, and not let this disease rob me of the joy and peace that God has promised me. He has filled my life with the love of family and friends, the blessings of good humor (mostly
), and more mercies, kindnesses, and happiness than my heart can hold – and I know He wants me to enjoy them to their utmost. I will do all I can to savor each one, every moment in the embrace of those who love me, and in the company of those who share my faith or those who are still searching for Him.
This one thing I do know: He loves me. He loves you, too. More than you could dream or imagine. Flaws and all. And I pray, as did the Apostle Paul, that you will come to know, “… how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,” (Eph. 3:18).

Lori – Though we’ve never met I wanted to encourage you. As I was going thru my cancer I received many cards and calls from folks I didn’t know. The one thing I did know was that their prayers along with my loved ones were powerful and they were healing my body. I know you’ve read this scripture many times Matthew 18: 18-19. Paul & I along with many, many others agree that this must go. I love your attitude. It will help you beat this thing. All our love!!
Lori – You don’t know me . . . but I am a friend of Susan’s in Birmingham, AL. Just wanted you to know that you are being lifted in prayer by over 100 prayer warriors at Trinity United Methodist Church each and every day! Your website is a true inspiration to us all. May God continue to hold you close as he heals you!
Lori – You inspire and tickle me!!! I love you more than words can say. With God’s help I know we will beat this!!!

Lori every since Steve told us about your cancer you have been at the top of my prayer list. Today Donna came into the office and I asked her how you were doing and she told me that you were doing so well and she gave me your web address. I am praising God with you for the marvelous healing that is happening in your body. Everything that you said has lifted my spirit and I know that God is completing a healing in your body and I will continue to lift you up daily in my prayers. Love and prayers

Hi Lori, I’ve been on your brother’s mailing list ever since the Braeswood Youth Group ’70s/’80s reunion last summer. (I was really sorry you weren’t able to make it there.) Well today I saw your photos in the newsletter and I was so surprised to learn of your diagnosis. I am thankful that you have received good reports and your faith in God is bolstered all the more. I will keep checking here — it will remind me to pray for you.

Lori, we are praying for you and for God to complete the work that He’s begun in your body. We’ve witnessed miracles in the past and know that God doesn’t change. His promises for healing are forever. We call upon Jehovah Rapha to apply the stripes that He bore upon himself for you…in Jesus’ name! Amen!

Lori, Your name was passed to me through mutal friends. I’m a cancer survivor as well. In March 2006 I was diagnosed with colon cancer and through the testing, they found thyroid and kidney cancer. I told my husband, “God must really trust me, as he’s allowed me to have three cancers at one time!” Scripture tells us to be thankful for all things, so I continually and consistently thanked God for the cancer and asked Him to use me a special way. I had three surgeries, 9 chemo treatments and on May 29, 2007, I was declared “cancer free”. Praise God! I’ve had the opportunity to share with many cancer patients that you can be a “life to be continued” and “SurvIve CANcer”. I used to make up in the morning and sit on the side of the bed to see how I was feeling and say “this is a good day, yes this is a good day”. I pray that you have many “good days” ahead of you as I know you will. God is good! In telling my testimony, I would tell people that I’m going to die one day, it may be to cancer or it may be of old age, but the journey wasn’t as important as where I’d spend eternity. I see on your website that you promote the Rick Warren book, “The Purpose Driven Life”. I paraphrased one of his quotes as a mission statement for me – God’s purpose is greater than my plans. May God bless you richly during your journey with cancer. I pray that you will have complete healing.
Just want you to know that you are so precious to God Isaiah 43:4
Since you were precious in My sight, You have been honored, And I have loved you; Therefore I will give men for you, And people for your life.
That is such a good word
HEY YOU!
