July 7, 2009 ~ Hospital

2009 July 7

I’ve been in the hospital since Friday, and am having some setbacks in our battle with cancer.  I wanted to add this little post to request your prayers for my doctors (there are many now) and, most of all, for my complete healing which I have not given up praying for and believing for.

As always, the love of Christ is our comfort and surrounds us, whether through pain and suffering, or through the joy of family and friendships that humanize His touch on our hand or cheek. Prayers have filled our room, family and friends have brought their love, stories, and laughter, and one special night I was “Psalmed” to sleep with the words of those poetic scriptures lingering in the darkness, bringing comfort and peace.

But, would you pray with us?  Would you stand with us, believing for a miracle?

Something told me you would.  And I’m forever grateful.

Yes, Lori, I have been praying for you especially since I heard that you were in the hospital, and will continue to pray for you. You are such a blessing to the people who read your blog. We’ll keep praying for complete healing for you.

    Lori,

I just wanted to let you know that I am believing God for a miracle. I am believing for your complete healing. I have been following your blog. It is so uplifiting to me. You are an inspiration to many. My sister in law was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in March. She will be 50 years old on July 29th. The doctor has her on heavy chemo. I referred her to your blog. She goes to the Unitarian Church. I am praying for you and her. I will continue to pray for you daily.

    Love and Prayers,

    Susan

    Dear Sister,

With all the passion and faith we can summon, we will be praying for you this evening. God has not changed and He is still the “Great Physician!” He has never had a practice, because He has never needed to!

The people of Bethany Church will be standing beside you in prayer tonight. We will also be praying for strength and encouragement for your wonderful husband and family.

I am an Ephesians 3:20-21 pray-er: “Now unto Him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.”
