July 11, 2008 ~ My Testimony at Braeswood Church Last Sunday

July 11, 2008

I was honored to be able to share my story last Sunday with the wonderful people of Braeswood Assembly of God Church, where my brother Steve Banning is Senior Pastor, and where my dad Earl Banning is now Co-Pastor. These sweet brothers and sisters in Christ have been in prayer for my healing since the beginning of this journey in April, and very generously sponsored a blood drive for MD Anderson two weeks ago. It was pure joy to share some “family time” with them and bring them up-to-date with all that the Lord is doing in my life! Oh, and what song do you suppose they were singing last Sunday morning? You guessed it – our battle cry on this journey – “Blessed Be Your Name!

In Steve’s email blog for this week, he added photos and a brief synopsis of my time with his congregation last Sunday morning which I have included here (I wanted to include his entire blog here for you to read, but I was unable to figure out how to do so – I think it was too large and complex for this forum.) I hope you will enjoy the pictures and captions of my visit with them.

“Lori, my youngest sister, shared her testimony telling of God’s answers to prayer. Diagnosed with stage-four breast cancer that had metastasized into her bones, God has intervened in a supernatural way. With her blood and platelet count now almost normal, we all praise the Lord. BLESSED BE YOUR NAME!”
“Lori holding up the pain medicines the doctors prescribed for her to take during chemotherapy. Praise the Lord, they remain unopened…she never had to take them! BLESSED BE YOUR NAME!”
“A proud brother marvels at the faith and courage of his sister. She is so strong and her faith unshaken. BLESSED BE YOUR NAME!
Please continue to pray for Lori’s complete and total healing We believe God can and will.
